Africa's economy facing coups.
What is the future of the African continent with successive
coups?
From 2O2O
until today we record 6 coups d'état in African countries including Mali,
Guinea, Burkina Faso, Chad, Sudan and Niger and the 7th caused by the refusal
of the President's electoral results in Gabon. These coups are often carried
out by military juntas opposing the current government. Let us try to criticize
by comparing these coups and the economic prosperity of these countries we find
ourselves an impossible equation. The causes of these coups can be explained
by: The desire of young people to change the existing situation, grief due to
electoral fraud (case of Gabon), authoritarian power, deterioration of economic
prospects (case of Niger), civil war , dictatorship (case of Sudan), the
incapacity of the government and the helplessness of the government in the face
of economic problems. For example in Gabon, Bongo sought to extend his family's
56-year hold on power, while the opposition pushed for change in this oil and
cocoa-rich, but poverty-stricken, country.
ARE
PUTCHISTS ALWAYS BETTER?
The coup leader rules the country illegally, he
can even authorize himself to change the existing constitution or he can
suspend the judicial system. Furthermore, the transition period does not always
favor the country. This does not guarantee a remarkable change in the country.
