The cars abandoned at stations

     The cars abandoned at stations

In everyday’s activities there appear some essential elements which help in a good advancement of those activities. No one should dare saying that water, electricity and fuel are indispensable elements for the citizens’ well living on one hand but more for the country development. For this, if the country misses them no development seen. Coming to the case of Burundi, this territory is in the terrible, hence, shameful situation because of the fuel shortage seen everywhere in the country from 2020.Following the debate made among citizens, they answer: ‘Our cars are abandoned at stations’

In the formers years, this situation was not so. Every car, motorcycle,…in short, any vehicle  of fuel user was served  according the owner capacity and according to the  works needed to execute. Every station used to be served the sufficient fuel once empted by the consumers ,it was given other enough quantity .But now, the station said to have fuel one week before it arrived .The cars ,motorcycle,… line themselves ,so they are not served. In contrast, they are not served. The station owners wait for this promised and paid fuel, one week passes but they don’t receive and another week comes, it becomes weeks, months, and cars remain there in vain.

    Why this happens?

In the Burundian history, most reports declare that it is the poorest country in the World but it is rich in the mineral resources. Concerning the fuel, engineers affirm that TANGANYIKA Lake has the fuel in it but techniques to exploit it are not available. Dealing with importation, and exportation, the country should export the said fuel contain in TANGANYIKA but as it is not yet exploited, the exportation is not possible.Anyway; Burundi should not be in this shameful situation even though fuel is not exploited. It should import fuel in the good manner and fit the consumers.

In which manner this importation should be preceded?

Is it Government importation or businessmen activity?

In the country affairs, there are distinctive affairs according to different post available.Hence; government affairs are very different from businessmen affairs.Consequently, if the government executes affairs about ruling at the same time need to apply business the country can’t develop. To resolve this, the government should provide access to businessmen and the last, must respect government regulations. In Burundi, this is the opposite of the case. The government is ruling at the same time, it intervenes in the business affairs. But the main role of the government should be of protecting the businessmen in their activities.

Referring to the government decision of importing the fuel itself and put it in the stock and serve the station owners, this decision should not be so. They should let businessmen import themselves but respecting the Burundian Revenue Authority.
